I presented garments made from salvaged fabrics in Hotel Le Gray d’Albion right in the midst of the Cannes Film Festival. My Showroom was situated in the Hotels Boutique Shopping Mall. My garments were seen and the concept of manufacturing waste discussed for 10 days.
I had racks of garments garments I made from fashion industry waste I had diverted from the landfill. I was available for conversation of the concept, people looked at, tried on and happily took garments to wear.
At the showroom we had models wearing our garments for red carpet and various photos, a runway show, singing talent show, it was fun. We were visited by radio/photography/video crews.
My environmentalist project was placed within international designers showroom by invitation. I am grateful for the experience of presenting in such an amazing place. We reached a new audience.
Big Thank you to Marie Myriam Larriere for recognizing and supporting my environmentalist mission and myself and my garments in her production.
All of the beads and trimmings were salvaged also. They were found in the new york fashion district discards and also at a create exchange store where I traded other materials for them
