Creating solutions for fashion Industry factory waste fabrics
Presents: dresses made from garment factory pattern waste fabrics.
March 4
in Paris, France at
The Peninsula Paris
A collection of garments made from salvaged fabrics.
The collection is an exampling of garments she discovered within the fabrics other designers threw away. It is comprised of dresses made with waste fabrics found in multiple same shape pieces.
Melissa Lockwood is dedicated to raising awareness about the massive quantities of fabric designers throw away.
In this show shows garments made with a technique she has developed. She designed with discarded fabrics.
She uses same shape pieces that are created in multiple during mass production of garments, keep them out of the landfill.
Melissa works to inspire mass-producing designers to consider their wastet as a resource. Ideally as a design area, creating additional garments during the design phase. Not designing with the waste after it is created but before it is considered waste.
